AP: Fidel Castro ‘believes in Obama’
From the Associated Press:
“He told me he had followed the inauguration of Barack Obama very closely, that he had watched the inauguration on television all day,” Fernandez said. “He had a very good perception of President Obama.”
Fernandez said Castro called Obama “a man who seems absolutely sincere,” who believes strongly in his ideas “and who hopefully can carry them out.”
This is a communist who came to power through violent revolution, and who once tried to persuade the Soviet Union to nuke the United States. Now, he is a fan of our new president. If Fidel is hoping that Obama can carry out his ideas, that is a pretty good indication that it is not what is best for the U.S. Just take a look at what Castro’s policies have done to Cuba. You don’t see Americans building boats to try and get to Cuba, do you?
